Boustead Plantations Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company, which also operates an oil palm plantation. The Company’s principal activities include the cultivation of oil palms, production and sale of fresh fruit bunches, crude palm oil and palm kernel in Malaysia. The Company operates through two segments: Plantation and other. The Plantation segment includes the cultivation of oil palms and production of crude palm oil and palm kernel. Its plantations are located in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. The others segment consists of plantations consultancy and investing activities. The Company operates over 40 estates, which are located in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. Its operations include over 10 palm oil mills with approximately four in Peninsular Malaysia and over six in East Malaysia. It is involved in oil palm agricultural and agronomic research through its associate research arm, Applied Agricultural Resources Sdn Bhd.

It cultivates oil palm and harvests fresh fruit bunches (each bunch is taken from an oil palm tree and can contain several hundred individual fruits) throughout its fields. Research and development investments range from improving crop transportation to developing new oil palm breeds. The company produces and sells crude palm oil, palm kernel, and fresh fruit bunches to maintain flexibility with customers. Additionally, it provides mill design and consultancy services. Examinations play an integral role to the consultancy services and enhance plant production capabilities.
