Sime Darby Plantation Berhad is a Malaysia-based company operating in the agriculture sector, with major business activities as the plantation of oil palm, as well as the sale of palm oil and other related products. The Company’s major undertakings are classified into three business segments: Upstream, Downstream and Others. Its Upstream segment is engaged in the development and management of oil palm, rubber and sugarcane plantation estates; the milling of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) into crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK); the processing and sales of rubber and sugarcane, as well as cattle rearing and beef production. Its Downstream segment, which generates the majority of the Company’s revenue, covers the production and sale of bulk and refined oils and fats, together with nutraceutical products, oleochemicals, biodiesel products and derivatives. Its Others segment includes agricultural products and services, such as producing oil palm seedlings and conducting research.
