Metrod Holdings Berhad (Metrod) is an investment holding company. The principal activities of the Company consist of two segments: procurement of raw materials, manufacturing and marketing of electrical conductivity grade copper wires, rods and strips, and Hotel operations. Its portfolio of products include Copper Rods, including DIP Form Road and UPCAST Rod; Copper Wires, such as Tincan Wire, and Copper Strips, including Earthing Strip, Non-Insulated Strip and Insulated Strip. Its copper rods and wires are used by cable makers to produce various types of cables and are used for main current carrying conductors, as well as for screening or shielding purpose. Its copper tape is used by electrical installers and contractors as an earthing conductor for lightning protection of building and electrical substations. Metrod’s non-insulated copper strips are used by distribution and power transformer manufacturers.

It operates in two business segments, Copper Business segment includes procurement of raw materials, manufacturing, and marketing of electrical conductivity grade copper wires, rods, and strips which are used in cables, magnet wire, welding wire, transformers, and lightning protection; and Hospitality business segment. The company derives the majority of the revenue from the Copper Business segment. The Copper Business has operations in Malaysia while it has Hospitality business has operations in India.
