Sumatec Resources Berhad is a Malaysia-based company, which is engaged in investment holding and the upstream oil operation. The Company focuses on the development of oil and gas assets. The Company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the management and oversight of the oil production operations at the Rakushechnoye Oil and Gas Field, as well as the provision of a gas development, implementation and production plan for the same field. The Rakushechnoye Field has an oil and gas reserve of approximately 139.4 million barrels of oil equivalent. It is located in Western Kazakhstan, on the Mangyshlak Peninsula, approximately 20 kilometers inland from the Caspian Sea and approximately 110 kilometers southeast of Aktau, a regional center. The Company’s subsidiaries include Sumatec Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Sumatec Oil and Gas LLP, which are involved in oil and gas field development services.

  1. Sumatec Resources Bhd is a Malaysia based investment holding company engaged in the business of upstream oil and gas operation. The company operates in the segment of the Management and oversight of the oil production operations at the Rakushechnoye Oil and Gas Field in Kazakhstan. It also provides study, design and planning of an integrated natural gas monetisation programme in preparation of the exploitation of the gas/condensate in accordance to a detailed full field geological and geophysical study of the entire oil/gas concession area. The oilfield operation and oil sales primarily contribute to the group’s revenue. The geographical segments of the group are Malaysia and Kazakhstan; of which major revenue is generated within Malaysia.
